Morning Conversation: State Senator Sen Bill Beagle

As chair of the Ohio Senate Workforce and Economic Development Committee, Senator Bill Beagle is the “go-to” policymaker on critical issues impacting Greater Cleveland. He also serves as the Ohio Senate participant on the Third Frontier Advisory Board.

The senator has a strong connection to Cleveland. He grew up in the Cleveland area and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University.

GCP Middle-Market Healthcare Forum

Without the scale of large companies or exemptions afforded to small companies, middle market companies are in a challenging position to adjust to both rising healthcare costs and implementing new regulations.

Our panel of experts will discuss how the Affordable Care Act is affecting middle-market firms and how companies are embracing innovations that simultaneously reduce business costs and improve healthcare outcomes.

GCP 2014 Annual Meeting of Members

Morning Conversation: Distinguished Professor of Politcal Science John Green, The University of Akron

GCP members are invited to our next "Morning Conversation" program to discuss Ohio politics and the 2014 election with John Green, distinguished professor of political science at The University of Akron.

Dr. Green is best known as the director of the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, a bipartisan research and teaching institute dedicated to the nuts and bolts of practical politics. He is widely recognized as an adept observer of Ohio and national politics, and he is frequently quoted in the national and state media.

Morning Conversation: Congressman Jim Renacci

GCP members are invited to be part of our "Morning Conversation" program with Congressman Jim Renacci, who was elected to the U. S. House of Representatives in November 2010 and is serving his second term representing the 16th district of Ohio.

Currently he is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives. Congressman Renacci, a certified public accountant, will play a critical role for Ohio as proposed legislation, which would comprehensively reform the nation’s tax code, makes its way through the committee.

Linking IT Talent to Opportunity

The Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Northeast Ohio Software Association and the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education invite companies to exhibit at the "Linking IT Talent to Opportunity: job fair on Wednesday, April 16 at the Middleburg Heights Community Center.

The event is part of NEOSA Tech Week 2014.

The Think Spot

The Think Spot is a new keynote series that brings the most influential and pioneering entrepreneurial minds to Northeast Ohio to speak, inspire and spark an epiphany.

The first speaker is Amilya Antonetti, who made her mark in the early 1990s when she successfully launched Soapworks after discovering the life-threatening effects of traditional cleaning products on her infant son.

Morning Conversation with Ohio House Speaker William Batchelder

Speaker Batchelder is the second longest-serving Representative in the Ohio House. As Speaker, he has focused on issues of critical importance to the Greater Cleveland Partnership and its members: Cleveland education reform, balancing Ohio’s budget, transportation funding, economic development, and tax-related issues.

Access to Capital Event for MBEs

Journey from contract manufacturer to owner

Please join us on Thursday, June 26 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Lincoln Electric for a free event offering insights into how three Northeast Ohio manufacturers made the change from contract manufacturer to product owner. The Greater Cleveland Partnership is co-hosting the session with MAGNET.

Many contract manufacturers have the potential to produce their own products but don’t know where to start. The event will feature presentations from manufacturers, who have taken the steps and are reaping the benefits from being product owners.

2014 BUGC Annual Meeting

The 2014 Annual Meeting of Build Up Greater Cleveland (BUGC), the infrastructure network, will feature keynote speaker George S. Hawkins, general manager of the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority.

Hawkins has served in his current position since September 2009. A native of Shaker Heights, Hawkins oversees DC Water’s nearly $1 billion operating and capital budget and is responsible for an ambitious agenda that complements a vast 10-year program to improve aging infrastructure and comply with ever more stringent regulatory requirements.
