The GCP Advocacy Team
understands the legislative processes and how the results can impact business. We work in close collaboration with our members to ensure their needs are heard at the local, state, and federal levels of government and we generate support for meaningful change on their behalf.
2017/2018 GCP Strategic Priorities and Public Policy Agenda
GCP supports activity that strengthens our competitiveness and vitality for continued economic growth. GCP staff members engaged the GCP Government Affairs Council, members, and partners to create the Public Policy Agenda. Areas of specific focus include:
• Advancement of Business Development Priorities – The GCP’s business retention, attraction and growth strategy encompasses targeted work that will improve the economic vitality of our region.
• Tax Policy and Investment – A thoughtful, balanced and competitive tax environment is critical to the success of business and community.
• Protecting our Federal and Civic Assets – This includes Lake Erie and the other Great Lakes, NASA Glenn and having the tools—New Market Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits, and other public financing—to advance transformational physical development in the City of Cleveland.
• Business Cost and Competitive Issues – Since our country’s inception, competition has been an essential element and its value cannot be understated in today’s marketplace.
