The renaissance of Northeast Ohio continues. We are experiencing ongoing and unprecedented economic growth and investment and garnering national attention for the rebirth that is occurring here.
Areas of focus include:
Yet with all of our success, we know we must take steps to continue this momentum. To boost our growth, we must invest in and support activity that has the greatest potential to strengthen our competitiveness and vitality as a region and state.
Our 2016/2017 Public Policy Agenda describes the priorities we believe are critical to accelerating our full economic recovery, while remaining nimble enough to respond quickly to a changing environment.
- Advancement of Business Development Priorities – The GCP’s business retention, attraction and growth strategy encompasses targeted work that will improve the economic vitality of our region.
- Tax Policy and Investment – A thoughtful, balanced and competitive tax environment is critical to the success of business and community.
There are many other important topics in the Public Policy Agenda, including transportation and infrastructure and the changing political landscape.
- Protecting our Federal and Civic Assets – This includes Lake Erie and the other Great Lakes, NASA Glenn and and having the tools—New Market Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits, and other public financing—to advance transformational physical development in the City of Cleveland.
- Business Cost and Competitive Issues – Since our country’s inception, competition has been an essential element and its value cannot be understated in today’s marketplace.
