PwC U.S. Chairman and Senior Partner Tim Ryan Addresses Cleveland's Leaders

Tim Ryan, PwC US Chairman and Senior Partner, keynoted the Commission’s annual CEO Forum on Monday, March 12. Ryan spoke to nearly 200 CEOs and senior leaders from GCP member companies about his decision to talk openly about race in the workplace.
“Discussing these types of difficult topics is usually assumed to be the responsibility of community leaders, politicians, and activists,” Ryan shared, “but our people spend a good portion of their lives within the walls of this firm and more than anything, I want them to be able to bring their whole selves to work.”

We would like again to thank our sponsors PwC, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Browns, Forest City Realty Trust and Ulmer & Berne for making this great event possible!

2018 Internship Summit Resources Available

On February 27, 2018, over 200 business, higher education, and community representatives gathered together at the 3rd Annual Cleveland Internship Summit to learn internship best practices, how to manage a multi-generational workforce, the benefits of considering international students and high school students to your internship programs, creative ways employers are getting interns and new grads more career-ready, how employers are using more evidence-based methods in hiring, and more.

Workforce continues to be a pressing challenge in our community.  As the focus on internships as a workforce solution increases, GCP will continue to bring valuable resources to aid in the quality and quantity of internship opportunities available.  Over three years, our annual Cleveland Internship Summit has become one of the most important tools in GCP’s toolkit to help the business community develop a strong talent pipeline for Greater Cleveland.

This will include working with employers and educational institutions represented at the summit to add additional resources to GCP Internship Central. Please also visit our 2018 Cleveland Internship Summit resource page to view available speaker presentations and bio’s.
