True2U is a volunteer mentoring program that helps Cleveland eighth graders explore their true selves, identify their strengths and passions, and connect them to their future. True2U mentors deliver the tools and perspective that helps youth make the most of high school, and be successful in college and/or their career path.

Academies of Cleveland

The Academies of Cleveland (AoC) combine college preparatory academics with career/technical education. CMSD launched the model in five high schools (Garrett Morgan, Jane Addams, MLK, Max Hayes and Washington Park) in Fall 2015 with career pathways from a variety of industries that drive economic growth in our community.

The business community is an essential component to ensure that we are preparing our youth for future career opportunities. Your participation in experiential learning activities will help teach students about specific career pathways so that they will make more informed decisions about their future careers.

Regional Business Advisory Councils

Business advisory councils foster cooperation among schools, businesses, and the communities they serve. By engaging business leaders in their community, educators can align school outcomes with the needs of employers. Under Ohio law, each school district board of education must have a business advisory council. Many communities choose to enter into an agreement where the county educational service center’s (ESC) business advisory council represents employers.
